The Stillness Inside

Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Manhattan, Long Island or Staten Island, if there’s a wall, there’s a game of handball to be played. If I’m not in my studio painting away, I’m usually at a park playing away. Lost in the spirit of competition, nothing else in the world matters when your focused on a excellent performance.

With all that said…I was thinking, maybe I should do a painting or a few…

Here’s Episode 3 of English Blue and The Giant. I decided to give the Giant a break in this episode and introduce three of English Blue’s friends. (Who actually remain nameless, so I’m not sure how much of a introduction this is.) For the most part, I’m satisfied with the strip, although I do have some technical issues with it. Besides that, I’m still working on my pacing and my story telling. Until next time!

A Few Drawings

I spent most of last week in Mexico working on two photo shoots for Siempre Mujer Magazine. The shoots went well. When I wasn’t working, I was drawing. I think I came up with some interesting stuff. A friend of mine, Rick Midler is involved in a group show at The Clover Fine Art Gallery located at 338 Atlantic Ave. The show opensĀ  today March 13, 2010. I had lunch with him this week and he let me flip through his sketch book. Amazing, amazing work. It was like taking a walk through a imaginary minefield. Stay tuned for more work from rick. In the mean time check out his website: http://www.rickmidler.net/home.html

These are some thumb nails I sketched out for a short eight page comic. (I say short, and it will be my longest comic ever. Funny) Anyway, the idea involves a character that I created named “Big Empty”. If your interested, take a look at my notes to see what the concept of the story is. Thanks for looking. (By the way, the Giant in the title doesn’t refer to the Giant from my English Blue story..I guess I just have a thing for giants…)
