I was recently commissioned to do a painting. The collector had no parameters for me to follow, except that he wanted the final piece to fit into an old 18th century wooden frame that he owned, which actually used to hang in a church. It was an opportunity that I couldn’t resist.  I remember playing around with a few thumb nail sketches trying to come up with an idea for about a week, making no headway. Then one morning I woke up, grabbed a piece of paper and sketched this idea out in a few short minutes. The idea came to me as opposed to me thinking it up, which is always a much welcomed and curious experience. Below is my sketch and the finished painting in its frame.

Yesterday I painted this little midget catching a Cooper tag on a photograph from James and Karla Murray’s book, Storefront: The Disappearing Face Of New York, which was installed in a PR agency called Maloney and Fox located in New York City. Billi Kid, Joe Iurato and UWP also joined in the fun.
